My husband, Dan, and I blended our family in 2007. My girls were 4 (Hannah) and 9 (Allie). Dan's were 7 (Addie) and 10 (Taylor). Although it hasn't been easy, I would do it all over again. Now that the girls are almost grown, they are not only sisters, but also friends, that choose to spend time together on their own. We cherish our family vacations, a day at the lake and even just an evening that we can sit down and have diner together and catch up.
Dan and I are the happiest when we are near water. Whether that is the beach, Lake Lemon or our pool. For my mental health, I have found that gardening is one of the best things I can do for myself. I love being outdoors and it helps fulfill my artistic side. Our dogs, Charlie and Howie are right by my side as I dig in the dirt.
